July 1, 2005 Bangkok, Thailand The co-founders of Avalon Technologies, Rohit Sachdev, and Suvir Sivasriaumphai today announced a partnership with EMC Documentum.
Under the terms of the agreement, Avalon will leverage its existing capabilities in Documentum's Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions to clients within Thailand and Asia Pacific. Avalon will function as a reseller of Documentum and provide systems integration and application development services for companies implementing Documentum's solutions.
Documentum provides Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions as part of EMC Corporation's information lifecycle management (ILM). This essentially is software that helps you create content with common desktop applications and easy-to-use content authoring templates. Content - or unstructured information - includes digital text documents, engineering drawings, XML, still images, audio and video files, and many others.
ECM is essential for managing:
• All content items - Includes content from your desktop and enterprise applications such as customer relationship management, supply chain management, and enterprise portals.
• Workflow and content lifecycle - Spans review, revision, and approval processes for any piece of content according to user-defined business rules.
• Multi-channel publishing - Allows simultaneous publishing of a single content item via a Web site, email, fax, print, and a handheld wireless device.
Avalon currently provides offshore outsourcing services for a large global pharmaceutical client in the United States using Documentum's Enterprise Content Management (ECM) tools and has completed almost 20 projects for them in the last year.
"The market for enterprise content management (ECM) has potential for tremendous growth over the next few years not only in North America but in Asia Pacific as well. As companies continue to gather enormous amounts of content required to run their businesses, there is an inherent need to provide dynamic, streamlined, and structured access to such content in order to create greater operational efficiencies" said Rohit Sachdev, Senior Partner of Avalon Technologies. "The signing of our partnership with Documentum will allow us to play a greater role in leveraging Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions to companies within the financial services, telecommunications, insurance and airline industries in Thailand and Asia Pacific."
Suvir Sivasriuamphai, Senior Partner added "Our experience in working with large global clients has given Avalon an ability to develop deep, integrated technology services. We hope to be able to extend such capabilities and methodologies to companies in Thailand as a market leader in the integration of web services with Enterprise Content Management."
Avalon Technologies is currently in the process of setting up industry-specific seminars in order to educate corporate decision-makers and address the challenges of managing content within business organizations in Thailand.
